A 2001 graduate of The Piney Woods School, Robert Patrick became a valued member of the Development Office last year. He found joy in reaching out to fellow alums to reconnect them with their alma mater because he believes in the mission and purpose of The Piney Woods School. This year he will transfer to Academics to teach in the same classrooms where he learned the importance of creativity and self-expression.
Born in Jackson, Robert attended Alcorn State University, in Lorman, Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He returned home to attend Jackson State University, where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Political Science. Today, he is the author of several articles, essays, and collections of poetry. His career spans from the offices of corporate America to the classrooms of major colleges and universities.
He still enjoys reading and writing and is enthusiastic about helping Piney Woods students develop a passion for those skills. He tries to live by the words of the late Malcolm X: “Tomorrow is given to those who prepare for it today.”
