Can you survive in the wilderness? The campers enrolled in the Mississippi Wildlife portion of the 2019 Summer Adventure Camp can with ease!
Campers were taught survival skills that they will carry with them for life. Together with instructors, campers explored the 65-acre main campus to learn how to react to anything they might encounter in nature. In evenings, officer led campers through a series of exercises that are part of the routine physical training process wilderness officers undergo.
Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks representatives spent one week on the campus, including staying in the residence halls with the campers. The culmination of their camp was a barbecue and fish fry shared with everyone involved with the 2019 Summer Adventure Camp.
This marks the third year of our partnership with wilderness officers and rangers from this state agency, making Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks a valued perennial partner in our summer camp programs.
The Piney Woods School would like to send a special thank you to Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks for their assistance with the 2019 Summer Adventure Camp.
